Hydro-excavation is the Safest Way To Dig

Most countries around the world, if not all, have a vast underground infrastructure of pipelines, cables, wires and other facilities. All these underground utilities are necessary for the day-to-day living of people since they provide telecommunications, water, electricity, gases and fuels. So imagine what a single incident of disruption of these services can cause?

Because of numerous incidents of injuries, explosions, etc., a one-call system has been implemented in America and other countries for those who are planning to do some excavation activities. In Texas, for example, even the homeowners are required to call 811 before they can move dig in their yard.

That is why hydro-excavation has been developed and, eventually, has become an excavation standard worldwide. Since it only utilizes pressurized water to break up sod and soil and conveyed the water slurry into a debris tank by a vacuum, it has been considered as the safest and most efficient form of excavation. It is non-mechanical and less invasive making it non-destructive to the buried pipes and other facilities. Definitely, there’s no safer and better way to dig than with hydro-excavation! So if you are based in Texas and needs excavation, think of a company who has been in the trade for ages.

Reflective Film Retailer

We are sourcing for new supply for all kinds of vinyl stickers such as reflective, translucent, transparent, opaque, frosted, and for digital printing. Being said that, we have been importing these goods for quite some time already but recently, we are short in some fast moving colors and films. Thus a quick fix would be to buy locally.

We browsed high and low, found several would-be suppliers from online forums, sulit and webpages. Based on our initial talk on the phone and via exchange of text messages, we were made to believe that they are importing and direct source from the manufacturers. And so, today, amidst my busy schedule, I went with the team to visit his shop - the shop. Only to find out that its a small time retailer, just buy roll of each color from a supplier and retails it in his sari-sari store. That long conversation over the phone has ended today.

Next job, search the net again and ask around. How about you? Do you know of a company who supply these products? I would be grateful.. want to earn commission? lol

Lights and Lamps

We used to stay in Paragon, a condominium in Mandaluyong City. The ground floor of the said building housed a big lights and lamps shop with imported products range from sparkling quoizel chandeliers, to sofa sets, tables and chairs, beds and other posh furnitures and fixtures.

I used to window shop around the shop for ideas on how to decorate our condo unit. I must admit its a little pricey there but there was one quoizel table lamps that I could not resist of not buying it. Yes, I could be an impulse buyer at times but for that particular purchase, I had to convince myself that lamp is ideal for our unit. Luckily, my husband also loved it! And so, the conversation is over! Its just perfect for our home lighting requirement.

Now we are living in a whole house in a middle class subdivision in Cavite, its still small but its perfect for our little family. We are a family of 5 by the way, with 2 househelpers - oh well, thats not really small now. One of the bathroom upstairs needs a makeover, I will probably sneak out of the office early today so I can check on quoizel bathroom lighting.

Back in Business

Its been a while since my last write up here. I have been busy at Wordpress for my other blogs in fashion, travel, health, food, home management, work and about my family.

But for now, I am again inspired to update this as I found a very nice green template. I find the other one boring already! Its like dressing up in public, you don't want to wear the same clothes. lol

So whats up? What keeps you busy during the past months?

Business Niche

As you have already known, I am also running the Pinay Green Mommy blog, a self hosted blog in Wordpress. As you can see, I can't update this blog often as I am more into that blog for green topics.

Thus, I am thinking of transforming this blog into a business blog. What do you think? I guess I just have to change the format or template and change the title.

Reading Green Blogs

I have been reading green inspired blogs lately, whether its about a go green topic, promoting recycling and stuff like that, even just a green template but the topic is fashion or family, invite my eyes to read really such blogs. There seems to be an invitation to stay in the blog longer.

There was this one blog of a mommy that has a  good backlink checker. Its admirable how she got such a high Alexa ranking and Google PR.

Spacious Room

I had  a meeting today with a supplier of waste paper in Fort Bonifacio. Together with my boss and the export manager, we arrived there quite early but couldn't find a parking space so we ended up late for 15 minutes. Good enough that their big boss was still not in when we got there, so it was still a blessing in disguise.

Anyway, we were directed to their meeting room and were offered coffee. Of course - yes please! One of the thing I noticed in that room are the leaning mirrors installed there. It made the room quite spacious. Even my boss noticed that mirror that resulted to 40% of the meeting about the business, 60% about the mirrors.

I have been thinking religiously if I will renew this domain for another year. For  quite some time, my decision was not to so I unchecked the portion of automatic renew under Google Apps. And it did! I received an email a few days ago that my domain has expired.

Today, while sitting and nothing to do, in a split second I come to realized to renew it. Thanks for the mosquitoes which kept on buggering me here.

So thats all. This domain deserves another year. So this blog still reads as www.recyclingloop.com

Poultry Business

I have long time friend who is in to poultry business. This is a very lucrative business considering that Filipinos are known to be chicken eaters. Remember chicken adobo and fried chicken? But amidst their success in this business, they also have their share of losses and big losses.

When they were starting the business, they cannot afford yet to buy refrigerated trucks so they used their own delivery truck but on the way for delivery, the truck was broken and so the meat were all spoiled. It was a painful experience for my friend and they learned from that mistake.

After they recovered from that loss, at first they made sure that before going out for delivery, the truck should be in good working condition. At a later time, they applied for a bank loan and luckily was approved fast. They then purchased refrigerated vans, 2 refrigerated trucks and coolers. They invested more in buying vehicle and equipments to solve their delivery issues.

Now, I can attest that their business is really doing well. They are serving multinational companies at the same time direct supplier to major supermarkets in Manila. They are currently upgrading their distribution channel in Manila and planning to open a branch in Visayas and Mindanao. I am living proof that the couple really started the business small but they both have the right attitude, perseverance and the determination to succeed. I am happy that amidst their problems and losses before, they didn't lose hope and just continue to struggle and work harder. Now they are plucking the fruits.

Planning for Family Getaway

My kids are so fascinated with wild animals and been pestering me to go to the zoo. I hope coming weekend we'll be free from all work related schedule so we can spend the day the kids way. Anyway, while watching Discovery Channel tonight, my kids saw whats on TV and its all about Tanzania safaris. We have been planning for a family getaway and that is the first on the list.

This is one way of connecting my kids to mother nature and animals..

Blogspot Templates

Today is one lucky day. I was busy tweaking my food blog when I came across my green / recycling blog. I was surprised to see that I got PR 1. Now my blog is getting popular lol.. :)

I could still remember when I started this blog with blogspot templates. Then after a few months of reading other blogs, I decided to buy the domain from Blogger direct and got a free blogspot templates. I was so happy with the come out of the design. Its perfect for my niche especially if I received lovely comments from my friends.

Airtight Bags

I know its been quite a while since I last posted here. I have been very busy in the real business world as we have imported several 40 footer containers of recyclable materials to sort in our sorting facility and re-export these to other countries either China or Indonesia. These are the two countries that we currently focus on export as we have our own people who could help in business dealings.

We previously imported mixed scrap plastics / post consumer scrap from Europe. We then sorted all the scrap in the warehouse and found out that there are different kinds of plastic. As these are post consumer plastic scraps, some would arrive with even stinky food residue but still fully sealed by anylock sealing rods.

The procedure of waste collection in Germany starts from the household. Each household comes in individual garbage bin for plastic, paper, kitchen waste and glass. These bins are then collected by private companies for proper disposal, send for recycling or other processes. But I am surprised to see how the consumer follows government regulation especially for garbage disposal. For kitchen waste, they would normally package it with anylock bag sealers so the food residue will not decay so fast.

Last year, I was in Germany and bought several bags of anylock slide and store. Its the easiest and simplest way to store food in the refrigerator. You just have to put in a airlock bags, fold the upper portion, push the bag sealers towards the end and bingo food is preserve longer as it is airtight. In using bags, you can store more items in the freezer as it doesn't eat so much space.
