Nokia Recycles, Gives Back to Nature

Nokia recently inaugurated the rehabilitated Phase 3 Watch Tower at the La Mesa Watershed and Eco Park, which will be used by forest rangers to protect the one-hectare land that Nokia adopted against illegal loggers and prohibited settlers.

The lush ecosystem is a 2,000 hectare forest found in the heart of Quezon City and is home to hundreds of tree species that are indigenous to the Philippines.

Since last year, Nokia has pioneered efforts to give back to the environment through its Nokia We:Recycle campaign where e-waste such as chargers, batteries, old phones and phone accessories of any brand were collected at different areas around the metropolis.

The campaign aims to increase awareness and encourage people to recycle their phones in the safe and proper way so they dont end up in landfills. For every kilo collected, Nokia made a donation for the rehabilitation of the La Mesa Watershed.

The rehabilitation of the Phase 3 Watch Tower's 1-million donation to Bantay Kalikasan.
